[CRYOLIST] GSA 2020 Session “T138. Sea level and ice-sheet changes, glacial isostatic adjustment, and landscape evolution”, Abstracts DUE: August 4th, 2020

Hello,

We invite abstracts to the 2020 GSA virtual session entitled 'T138. Sea level and ice-sheet changes, glacial isostatic adjustment, and landscape evolution', a topical session that addresses Pliocene–Holocene sea level changes, ice sheet stability, and solid Earth and landscape adjustment to these changes. We welcome studies across a broad range of geological time/spatial scales and methods. The Session is endorsed by the GSA Quaternary Geology and Geomorphology Division, Marine and Coastal Geoscience Division, and the Sedimentary Geology Division.

Pliocene to recent glacial–interglacial cycles serve as natural laboratories to inform and predict future sea-level change and cryosphere stability. Accordingly, this session welcomes contributions that discuss improvements in our understanding of Pliocene to recent sea-level and ice-sheet changes, as well as the responses of the solid Earth and landscapes to these changes. This session will bring together data and modeling studies, with research topics including, but not limited to, reconstructions of past ice sheets and sea level, Pliocene- Pleistocene analogues to inform future ice-sheet and sea-level changes, rapid changes in sea level and ice sheets, improved proxy data- model integration, and solid Earth and/or landscape feedback to ice- and sea-level change.

Abstracts DUE: August 4th, 2020

Please follow this link to submit your abstract: https://community.geosociety.org/gsa2020/home

Following GSA guidelines, all oral presentations will be pre-recorded (12 min long) and the session chairs will play the recorded video during the session. Speakers will then have the opportunity to answer questions and engage with the audience for 3 minutes after their pre-recorded video has been played. Poster presentation will be 5 minutes and allow for 5 minutes of discussion.

We look forward to 'seeing you' at GSA!

Best regards,

Jessica Creveling (jessica.creveling@oregonstate.edu), Natalya Gomez (Natalya.Gomez@mcgill.ca), and Vivi Pedersen (vkp@geo.au.dk)
