Dear colleagues,
You are invited to a joint meeting of the IARPC Glaciers & Sea Level Collaboration Team that will take place this Thursday, August 18, between 11:00am–12:00 pm EDT (UTC –4).

This meeting is titled "Glaciers Through Time from Air and Space" and will feature two presentations from two recent projects in this domain. Recent advances in sensors and methodology open up new opportunities for interpretation of the historical and modern record of both airborne and satellite imagery of glaciers. This meeting seeks to update the GSLCT on recent work using imagery to study Northern Hemisphere glaciers, with a focus on Alaska and Svalbard. It will feature the following presentations that are intended to spark a collaborative discussion. The meeting will also be recorded and shared on YouTube.
- Zachariæ Isstrøm Ice Shelf Changes, East Greenland, From Landsat 1975 to 2021 – Christopher A. Shuman (UMBC and Mark A. Fahnestock, UAF)
- Historical glacier change on Svalbard – Jack Kohler (Norwegian Polar Institute)

Why participate in IARPC Collaborations?
IARPC collaboration teams improve information flow between the Arctic research community and U.S. federal agencies. Think of them as ongoing, short science workshops. For example, scientists present their research to peers and program managers can both learn about new efforts within their fields and each other's programs, and also identify further synergies between programs and programmatic gaps. While we focus primarily on U.S. efforts in the Arctic, we also seek to learn about and share knowledge and best practices from related regions and fields, and scientists and stakeholders from across the globe are welcome and encouraged to participate. Our recently released 2022-2026 Arctic Research Plan is available here: https://www.iarpccollaborations.org/plan/index.html
We look forward to your participation!
