Re: [CRYOLIST] Cryosphere analysis tool "box"?

Dear Twila, dear Cryolisters,

"CryoTools" https://cryo-tools.org/ was recently set as a community effort to promote free open source software (FOSS) projects for cryospheric research applications, foster collaboration, provide infrastructure for code and documentation, jointly improve coding skills, and so forth.

All cryosphere-related FOSS projects are highly welcome to join!
Of course, the service is free and not subject to any further obligations for the member projects. Except FOSS, no restrictions apply regarding coding language, coding style, or topic / methods of the software projects.

Currently, CryoTools is still in an early state, since the pandemic was quite an obstacle to the collaborative efforts - so it's certainly not a 'library' at this time, but would be great if it would develop in that direction.
Nevertheless, besides the core website, CryoTools already provides free information on project updates and project-related publications via Twitter (https://twitter.com/CryoTools) and ResearchGate (https://www.researchgate.net/project/Cryo-Tools).

If you have further questions or have a project that you would like to join CryoTools, please get in touch post@cryo-tools.org ...

Cheers,
David

Betreff: [CRYOLIST] Cryosphere analysis tool "box"?

Hi cryosphere colleagues -

I'm wondering if anyone has already created or is creating some kind of online dashboard that links to all of the amazing analysis tools our community has now created?

I can think of places where some exist, like Ghub (https://vhub.org/groups/ghub). Might this or another "umbrella" site/organization be a good place to expand to capture a more comprehensive library of tools? Or maybe this exists/is under construction and simply needs more community awareness?

Thank you,
Twila
