[CRYOLIST] Postdoctoral opportunity in ice-sheet modelling and uncertainty quantification at the University of Edinburgh

Dear Colleagues

I would like to bring your attention to postdoctoral opportunity in Ice-sheet modelling and uncertainty quantification at the University of Edinburgh.

The successful postholder will make use of the fenics_ice code, an assimilation and uncertainty-framework based on the FEniCS code-generation tool, in order to assess the uncertainty associated with ice-sheet assimilation of satellite data and the impacts of this uncertainty on forecasts of ice loss from the Amundsen sector of West Antarctica.

More information regarding fenics_ice can be found here:
https://gmd.copernicus.org/preprints/gmd-2021-90/
https://github.com/EdiGlacUQ/fenics_ice

The post is funded by the NERC project QUoRUM (QUantifying and Reducing Uncertainty in ice-sheet Model predictions). The postholder will join a team of investigators in the Schools of GeoScience and Mathematics in the University of Edinburgh.

The post is full time, and funded until the 31st December 2022 but with potential for extension.

Further details and instructions on how to apply can be found here:
