Dear Cryolist,
On April 15th the Arctic community lost a visionary in sea ice, climate, and remote sensing research. Distinguished professor David Barber, from the University of Manitoba in Canada, passed away following complications from cardiac arrest.
As a reminder, we plan to honour of David's pioneering work in remote sensing, Arctic system science, and climate change, via a Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing special collection on "Remote Sensing for Assessment of Arctic Sea Ice and Climate Change."
Please consider honouring David's dedication to Arctic research, by contributing to this special collection. The deadline for submissions is February 15, 2023.
Note that the Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing will convert to an Open Access journal starting January 2023. More information about the special issue, including submission instructions, can be found at the Taylor & Francis website: https://think.taylorandfrancis.com/special_issues/canadian-journal-remote-sensing/?utm_source=TFO&utm_medium=cms&utm_campaign=JPG15743
If you have any questions, or would like to let us know about your intent to submit, please feel free to contact me Randy Scharien (randy@uvic.ca). Thanks also to guest editors Dustin Isleifson and Alex Komarov.
Regards,
Randy
