[CRYOLIST] INQUA 2023 - call for abstracts extended until Nov 28th - Session 5c - 22 "Mountain Glaciations and their diversity"

Dear colleagues,

because the deadline for submitting an abstract to INQUA 2023 in Rome has been extended until 28th November 2022, we would like to send you a reminder and again draw your attention to our planned session during the XXI. INQUA Conference 14th - 20th July 2023 in Rome:

'Mountain glaciations and their diversity: Perspectives in geomorphology, geochronology, palaeoglaciology, and palaeoclimatology' (5 C - Session 22)

Mountain glaciations have a long research heritage since they provide an invaluable record for past and present climate change. Mountain ranges are, furthermore, important geo-ecosystems characterised by dynamic processes and hotspots of current Global Change. Complex and divers topographical, geomorphological, climatical, and glaciological conditions can, however, make correlations on regional to global scales challenging.

The main incentive for this session is to evaluate the potential of mountain glaciation records and to stimulate significant bridging between specialised research communities to fully utilise the vast potential the diversity of mountain glaciations offers. Contributions on all relevant aspects are welcomed, submissions involving interdisciplinary studies or highlighting specific conditions and complex interactions are encouraged. Regional studies from continental to maritime mountain ranges and from any latitude will be included to allow finding strategies to tackle existing challenges and to fully address the diversity of the topic.
