Hello Eric and Anton,
Yes, I have circulated the advertisement for the session on CRYOLIST.
Cheers, Diana.

Hello Eric,
Thanks for your positive feedback. CRYOLIST was also on Diana's list; she may already have sent it. You also had cryolist@lists.cryolist.org in your cc. I assume that in this way the mail went automatically to all the subscribers of cryolist?
Thanks again,
Anton

Dear Anton and Diana,
Indeed, I am very much honoured to give this talk and to contribute to your session. A mail to the cryosheric community (cryolist@lists.cryolist.org) would be quite appropriate via the cryolist. As conveners, it is probably better if you send yourselves the announcement, but I can do it if you prefer.
Best regards

Objet: Cryosphere and the stable atmospheric boundary layer, WWSC, 16-21 August 2014, Montreal
Dear Eric,
As you know, Diana Verseghy and I are convening a session on cryosphere / atmosphere coupling in the WWSC conference in Montreal. It is excellent news that you agreed to give a key note presentation in this session. We are currently advertising the session by email through several mailing lists with the description of the session below. If you can think of people or science communities that are potentially interested in this topic, please do not hesitate to forward this mail.
Best wishes,
Anton
Session on Cryosphere and the stable atmospheric boundary layer, WWSC, 16-21 August 2014, Montreal
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Numerical weather prediction and climate models show large uncertainties in near surface temperature in areas over ice, snow, and frozen land. The strong winter signal and large uncertainty at high latitudes in climate models is often called Arctic amplification. The coupling between atmosphere and surface is a crucial aspect with uncertainties related to clouds (e.g. mixed phase clouds), turbulent mixing, snow processes, sea ice, vegetation heterogeneity and soil processes including soil freezing. There is also increasing evidence that meso-scale variability, scale interactions and terrain heterogeneity are key aspects of the coupling problem. We invite contributions on all these aspects and particularly on the interactions and feedbacks between components of the coupled atmosphere/cryosphere system. This includes studies with full GCM's, meso-scale models, large eddy simulation models, single column models and observational studies.
The deadline for abstracts (maximum 250 word) is 24 February.
