[CRYOLIST] Postdoc position on modelling aerosol-snow interactions @ University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy

A postdoc position for 2 years, starting in January 2022 or soon after, is now open at the Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences, University of Milano-Bicocca, under the supervision of Prof. Samuel Albani. The gross salary (income tax-free, but subject to social security contributions) is approximately 26,000 EUR per year. Applications will close on 1 December, 2021.

The research project, funded by a national grant, will be carried out in collaboration with colleagues at LSCE/IPSL and IGE in France. The project focus will be on the role played in the climate system by light absorbing particles deposited on snow, by developing a parameterization suite representing aerosol-snow-radiation interactions in the IPSLCM6 Earth System Model.

Highly motivated candidates holding a PhD in climate science, meteorology, environmental sciences, Earth sciences, physics, or a similar subject are encouraged to apply. Good knowledge of English and at least one programming language is required. In addition, knowledge of physical properties of aerosols and/or snow, radiative transfer, and experience with climate models will be considered.

The official Call and the web link to the application form are available at the following link (it will be possible to select English as the language once logged in the application form webpage):
