[CRYOLIST] PhD study in “Quantitative analysis of firn permeability and melt water refreezing of the Greenland ice sheet”

A PhD Fellowship is available at the Arctic Technology center under department of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

The announced PhD study will analyze non-linearities in ice sheet melt runoff where changes in permeability are to be quantified using thermodynamic and hydraulic modelling tools. Focus will be to determine the physical setting needed for formation of ice lenses as well as conduits promoting preferential melt water flow in the near surface firn of the lower accumulation zone of the Greenland ice sheet.
