Request for data: Temperature & Ablation Data from Automatic Weather Stations
Dear all,
This is a request to the glaciology community – in particular those who have been, or are currently collecting near surface temperature and ablation data on glaciers.
I am currently testing a methodology (developed using hourly AWS observations from the Greenland Ice Sheet) which will hopefully improve melt forecasting. I am keen to further validate my predictive method by testing it using observations from glaciers situated in a variety of environmental settings.
If any colleagues would be willing to share their data, or would like to discuss further please do get in touch (leanne.wake@northumbria.ac.uk). I'd particularly like to hear from you if you have AWS observations which have a temporal resolution of 1 hour or better, spanning periods of one month or more.
Thanks for reading!
Leanne
