Dear colleagues,
the University of Bremen offers a position (100%, TVL 13) for initially 2 years in the working group "Optimization and Optimal Control", which belongs to the Center of Industrial Mathematics (ZeTem). The candidate will work in strong collaboration with the DLR Maritime Safety and Security Lab Bremen in the project MAP-BORealis in the field of optimal route planning through the sea ice in polar waters. The focus will be on the analysis of remote sensing data using neural networks. Existing algorithms, e.g. for the classification of sea ice, should be improved.
There is the possibility of working for a doctoral degree.
Your qualifications:
- Master's degree or Diplom (or PhD)
- experiences in mathematical modelling or optimization
- first experiences in the fields of neural networks and remote sensing
- ideally programming skills (in C++)
