We are pleased to announce a fully funded Phd position in Himalayan glaciology at Aberystwyth University. The project is funded through the KESS-2 scheme in conjunction with Reynolds International, the world leader in glacial hazard assessment and mitigation.
The aim of the study is to understand recent changes in these Himalayan glaciers – in particular how relict glacier structures influence the degradation of stagnating debris-covered ice masses and how these structures may then influence the morphological response, thermokarst processes, and integrity of moraine dams in response to changing climate.
The closing date for applications is 5th August.
Further information including details of the project and how to apply are on the KESS Central website http://kess2.ac.uk/aue10003/
