[CRYOLIST] REMINDER: Registration deadline IASC-NAG workshop approaching

REMINDER: Registration deadline is approaching for:

Workshop on the Dynamics and Mass Budget of Arctic Glaciers & the IASC Network on Arctic Glaciology Annual Meeting
25 - 27 January, 2016, Benasque, Spain

Registration deadline: 13 December 2015

The purpose of the meeting is:
- to present and discuss new results on observations and modelling of the dynamics and mass budget of Arctic glaciers, including the Greenland ice sheet,
- to plan and coordinate field work on Arctic glaciers with the aim of using the available infrastructure and logistics in the most efficient way,
- to develop ideas for future projects and collaboration.

Participation:
is open to everyone interested in the Arctic glaciology.

There will be keynote lecture by Regine Hock on "Global-scale glacier modelling - Challenges and recent progress".

A special session on glacier-ocean interactions is also planned, with Gordon Hamilton as keynote speaker.
Short Description of the special session:
Glacier dynamics play an important role in the mass budget of Arctic glaciers and,  ocean in the case of tidewater glaciers, are greatly influenced by interactions between the ice and the ocean. We seek to bring together glaciologists and oceanographers to advance our understanding of the interaction processes and their impact on glacier mass budgets.

For more information about the workshop read below or our website: http://nag.iasc.info/

Best regards,
Carleen Reijmer (chair IASC Network on Arctic Glaciology)
Francisco Navarro (chair local organising committee)
