Dear Cryolist members
This week, on 22 February 2023, in the IGS Global Seminar Series we had another two talks on sea ice.
First, Sean Chua and Anton Steketee from the Australian Antarctic Division and Australian Antarctic Partnership Program introduced us to a new tool for visualizing Antarctic Sea Ice data. The tool is called Nilas (https://nilas.org/#1/-90/0) and the talk is titled Nilas: The Southern Ocean Mapping Platform.
Second, Dr. Andy Mahoney from the University of Alaska Fairbanks presented a talk entitled Ikaagvik Sikukun: Bridging the Scientific and Indigenous communities understanding of sea ice in a changing Arctic.
