[CRYOLIST] Deadline Extended (March 14) Eastern Snow Conference Abstracts

Dear Colleagues,

For those of you who need a little more time, we are extending the abstract submission deadline to March 14, 2023.
Please see below for submission details which remain the same.

We are excited to let you know that the 79th Annual Eastern Snow Conference will be held at the Nurture Nature Center in Easton, Pennsylvania (USA) June 6-8, 2023. We look forward to seeing you and your colleagues in June!

Presentations on all physical and social aspects of snow and ice research are welcome, including, but not limited to, in situ and remote measurement of snow and ice covers, snow ecology, new advances in snow observation technology, and social interactions with snow.

Abstracts can be submitted here, where you will also find abstract guidelines and a template, and are due Feb. 28, 2023 March 14, 2023. Students are reminded that they are eligible for several awards, and you should identify your status for consideration when you submit your abstract. Early bird registration (March 31, 2023) will be ~$350 for professionals and ~$200 for students and will include most snacks and meals.

The Nurture Nature Center is a center dedicated to engaging the public in learning about environmental risks and has a very active group of programs working with the community and schools centering science, art, and community. The program will include a Science on a Sphere show, and they have beautiful gallery and meeting spaces. Easton is located at the confluence of the Lehigh and Delaware Rivers and is not far from the ABE, EWR, and PHL airports. A suite of rooms has been held at the Grand Eastonian and there are other hotels in the area. To get their special rate, you should call (610 258 6350) and let them know the start date. They also have a government rate for those who travel on behalf of the US or Canadian agencies. We will add more possibilities on the website soon.

An optional excursion on the afternoon of the 8th is being planned.

We look forward to seeing you in June, when it should be beautiful in Easton.

Best wishes,
Joan Ramage & Eastern Snow Conference
