Dear colleagues,
I would like to share with you the announcement for an associate professor in quaternary geology in our department. The advertised position is within the research group for quaternary geology and palaeoclimate. Research activities in the group focus on marine and terrestrial quaternary geology and palaeoclimate, and the group is responsible for running two national research infrastructure facilities relevant for their research activity.
When considering applications, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original on-going scientific work at an international level, with the potential to become world leading on a broad range of topics within the field of quaternary geology (e.g. glacial geology, palaeoclimate based on terrestrial archives, sea level reconstruction, dynamics of ice sheet and smaller glaciers). We are keen to attract a candidate with experience from field-based investigations and that has clear potential to advance and integrate the group`s national research infrastructures (notably EARTHLAB, but also FARLAB, and potential synergies between them) and also to develop research projects in close interaction with the modelling community (i.e. climate, behavior of ice sheets or glaciers and related processes) of the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research.
