Dear colleagues,
Apologies for cross-posting.. This is a friendly reminder to submit abstracts to the CR6.2/AS1.23 session
"Clouds and Precipitation in the Polar Regions: sources, processes, and impacts"
at the 2017 European Geophysical Union General Assembly (23-28 April 2017):
http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2017/session/22824
This year we would like to bring attention to the aerosol-cloud interactions in the polar regions. Two solicited speakers will talk about aerosol and cloud measurements in the Arctic and Antarctic: Greg McFarquhar (University of Illinois, USA) and Sebastian O'Shea (University of Manchester).
All topics relevant to clouds and precipitation in the Polar Regions are welcome!
Young scientist/student presentations are especially encouraged and we will reserve several oral units for such papers in this session.
The abstract submission general deadline is 11 January 2017, 13:00 CET.
We have limited financial support from SCAR for scientists working on Antarctic clouds. Young scientists in need of financial support - please contact Tom Lachlan-Cope (tlc@bas.ac.uk) and Irina Gorodetskaya (irina.gorodetskaya@ua.pt)
Please forward this announcement to any interested colleagues. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding the session.
We look forward to seeing you at EGU!
Best New Year wishes!
Session conveners
Irina Gorodetskaya (University of Aveiro, Centre for Environmental and Marine Sciences, Portugal)
Susanne Crewell (University of Cologne, Inst. for Geophysics and Meteorology, Germany)
Tom Lachlan-Cope (British Antarctic Survey, UK)
Manfred Wendisch (University of Leipzig, Leipzig Institute for Meteorology, Germany)
Nicole Van Lipzig (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium)
