Hi everybody,
Here at NASA Goddard, we got approval for the hiring of a sea ice remote sensing scientist. This is a permanent full-time civil servant position.
The specific area of sea ice research is open but some relationship with our core competencies of spaceborne and airborne remote sensing would be beneficial.
At this point, US citizenship is required.
Cryospheric research at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is part of its Earth Science Division and addresses the physics of ice sheets and glaciers, sea ice, snow on ice and land, and the role of ice and snow in the global climate system, with an emphasis on utilizing airborne and spaceborne data. The laboratory also provides the leadership of the Operation IceBridge and ICESat-2 missions. The laboratory consists of about 30 scientists (incl. graduate students and post-docs) and 70 support personnel.
For more information about the lab please go to cryosphere.gsfc.nasa.gov and for the Earth Science Division go to http://science.gsfc.nasa.gov/earth/
Please contact me if you are potentially interested and/or would like to talk about this opportunity in more detail.
Cheers,
Thorsten
