Dear Cryosphere Colleagues,
A reminder that the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Cryosphere Focus Group is accepting nominations for the Cryosphere Early Career Award and the Nye Lecture. Nominations are due on April 15, 2016. We encourage the community to nominate your deserving colleagues for these awards. Early Career Award nomination are submitted through the AGU nomination website and Nye Lecture nominations are sent directly to the Cryosphere Award Committee Chair. Detailed information on criteria and submission can be found here http://honors.agu.org/scientific-contribution/cryosphere/
The Cryosphere Early Career Award is given annually to one honoree (no more than 10 years post-degree on 1 January of the year in which the award is to be presented) in recognition of significant early career contributions to cryospheric science and technology. The Nye Lecture is selected based on highlighting and recognizing an outstanding cryospheric scientist and her/his recent accomplishments as well as the individual’s ability to present exciting science to the non-cryosphere community of AGU scientists. The Cryosphere Student Innovation Award/Flash Freeze Competition registration will not be open until the Fall 2016 and AGU fellowship applications have closed for 2016.
Sincerely,
Waleed Abdalati, AGU Cryosphere Awards Committee Chair
Robin Bell, AGU Cryosphere President
Tavi Murry, AGU Cryosphere President-Elect
