[CRYOLIST] 7-day forecast over the Greenland ice sheet simulated by MAR forced by GFS

Dear colleagues,

From several summers, I run the regional climate model MAR over the Greenland ice sheet to follow the melting season over the Greenland ice Sheet (GrIS) in real time. This summer, I force MAR with GFS allowing to perform 7-day forecasting in the aim of eventually anticipating big melt events over GrIS if your are on the field.

These forecasts are available on http://climato.be/melt and are only provided for information.

As you will see, the 2018 melting season has just started over GrIS with a first big event at the beginning of June but MAR forecasts a return to normal conditions in the coming days.

All the best,
Xavier

PS: Some outputs of MARv3.9 (including the forecast over 2018) are available on my FTP but I request a co-authorship of you use these ones in your publications.
