[CRYOLIST] 2 PhD positions in glacier modeling at the U. of Bremen, Germany

The Institute of Geography at the University of Bremen invites
applications for the following academic positions, starting October 1st
2016, for 3 years:

2 PhD students
salary grade EG 13 TV-L
part time positions 75 %

The PhD students will work in the Climate Lab of the Institute of
Geography (http://www.geographie.uni-bremen.de/en/climate-geography) in
the project "Predictability and Attribution of Regional Sea-Level Change
Caused by Glacier Mass Change", funded by the Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinschaft in the context of the Priority Program "Regional
Sea-Level Change and Society" (http://www.spp-sealevel.de). One PhD
student will focus on the impact of climate forcing and internal climate
variability on concurrent glacier mass change on the global scale
(reference number A135/16). The other will focus on the long term
adjustment of glaciers to past climate change and the predictability of
glacier mass loss resulting from committed, but not yet realized mass
changes (reference number A158/16).
Both will contribute to the development, validation and application of
the Open Global Glacier Model (see http://oggm.org).

To apply successfully, you will:
• have a Master of Science in a field of Earth science with proven,
