[CRYOLIST] ISAES: deadline 27th Feb: Evolution of Antarctic Topography and Bathymetry session

Dear all,

Apologies for cross-posting…

We are inviting abstracts for session 7: Evolution of Antarctic topography and bathymetry: understanding links between landscapes, ice and palaeoclimate at the XII International Symposium on Antarctic Earth Sciences (ISAES) to be held in Goa, India between the 13th and 17th of July 2015.

The session aims to bring together researchers who work on identifying, understanding and quantifying long-term changes to the topography and bathymetry of Antarctica and who aim to understand the feedbacks between such changes and the behaviour of the ice sheet, ocean-currents and palaeoenvironment.

We invite contributions that either: (1) constrain and reconstruct terrestrial and marine palaeotopography/bathymetry or stratigraphy on local, regional or continental scales; (2) elucidate the feedbacks between long-term changes in topography, tectonics, climate and ice sheet evolution in Antarctica; or (3) reconstruct and visualise past Antarctic environments.

We anticipate that this session will bring together contributors using modelling, field-based and/or visualisation approaches to gain clearer and more reliable conceptions of Antarctic palaeogeographic environments and of patterns in its long-term evolution and feedbacks with ice and climate.

Abstract submission is now open (www.isaes2015goa.in) and the deadline for sending your abstracts is the 27th of February 2015.

We look forward to some fruitful discussions in Goa.
