Dear Cryolisters,
we are announcing the Subglacial Hydrology Intercomparison Project
SHMIP. This project aims at providing a qualitative comparison of
subglacial hydrology models by analysing results from a suite of test
runs.
It is designed such that any subglacial hydrology model producing
effective pressure should be able to participate: lumped, 1D and 2D
models. We also encourage you to participate with legacy models,
i.e. models which are no more state of the art, as this will help to put
their results into context with results derived from more modern models.
All information can be found on the web-site
http://shmip.bitbucket.org/
Please send us an email if you are interested in participating (or
being kept up to date).
Schedule:
- today: official launch
- 3 February 2017: submission deadline for results
- 23-28 April 2017 at EGU: presentation of preliminary results and
splinter-meeting to discuss further steps
Kind regards,
Basile de Fleurian & Mauro Werder
