It is with great pleasure that I announce that the International Glaciological Society has decided to award the Richardson medal to Stan Paterson.
As you all know, Stan wrote the much revered and influential book 'The Physics of Glaciers', a book that has been the mainstay of the diet of any budding glaciologist for more than 40 years and a standard reference text to all.
