[CRYOLIST] Open positions at the Centre for Ice and Climate, University of Copenhagen, Denmark - deadline Oct. 10th 2012

Centre for Ice and Climate is a centre of excellence at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. The centre's main activities are drilling of ice cores through the Greenland ice sheet (e.g. the NGRIP and NEEM projects) and analysis of ice cores with the objective of understanding the governing processes of past and future climate. We seek new colleagues with the following profiles:

Research scientists – Atmospheric modelling and ice core data interpretation

Two positions on postdoctoral or assoc. professor level (time limited contracts, 2-4 years, no/limited teaching) are available within a wide range of topics related to global climate modelling with emphasis on atmospheric transport and dynamics, statistical modelling, and ice core data interpretation at the Centre for Ice and Climate, a Danish National Research Foundation Centre of Excellence located at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. Deadline for applications is Oct. 10, 2012. A postdoc or a PhD position on Analysis of climate extremes

A position as postdoctoral researcher (2-3 years) or a PhD scholarship (3 years) is available at the Centre for Ice and Climate, a Danish National Research Foundation Centre of Excellence located at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. The position is a part of the project RiskChange led by Peter Ditlevsen. The main objective of this project is to assess the possible changes in extreme climate and weather conditions as a consequence of climate change. This involves investigating and developing tools to use the relationship between local extremes and large-scale climatic fields, which are projected in climate scenario simulations for the future. Deadline for applications is Oct. 10, 2012.
