Dear Colleagues,
As promised last month, I am pleased to share all of the NAGAP vertical photography from the 1990s
at this link:
http://drmattnolan.com/nagap
It is my hope to roll out a decade a month for the next several months until all vertical
photography from this collection is online on this page in this same format.
Whether your interest is a pretty picture of your favorite glacier, outreach on the long-term
dynamics of glaciers, or identification of strips and blocks of photos for photogrammetric surface
reconstruction, I believe you will find something of interest on this web page. Here you will be
able to view large thumbnails of the images in Flickr, view reconstructed flight lines and
geolocated photos in Google Maps and Google Earth, and download a spreadsheet with all image
metadata (other metadata with mission notes and field sketches is still being prepared for
release).
This web page is the first step and iteration of a broader data discovery and download plan which
will eventually involve federally-funded data centers and open access to the full resolution
tiffs, hopefully in the not too distant future. If you have comments or suggestions on this page
or the direction this is heading, find any broken links or other screw-ups, or have ideas for
re-serving the data yourself, please contact me.
Cheers,
Matt
