Dear colleagues
We would like to draw your attention to the Permafrost Young Researchers Workshop 2014 during the 4th European Conference on Permafrost (18-21 June 2014).
The Permafrost Young Researchers Workshop 2014 (www.eucop4.org/permafrost-young-researchers-workshop.html) for ca. 75 participants is jointly organized by PYRN, APECS, PAGE21 and ADAPT and will be held in conjunction with the Fourth European Conference on Permafrost 2014 in Évora, Portugal (www.eucop4.org). This workshop aims at building interdisciplinary knowledge on how permafrost regions play a key role in the Earth System and will give each participant a more overarching view on the topic beyond disciplinary research questions. To achieve this, the participants will exchange and share knowledge during thematic break-out sessions. They will also reflect and elaborate on the future avenues of permafrost research together with mentors who are chosen because of their key role in permafrost research either in large-scale international projects or science policy.
Limited travel and accommodation support is available on request. A peer-reviewed application process for stipends distribution among candidates will be conducted by the workshop organizers.
A special focus will be given for applicants from IPA member countries as well as o the members of PYRN, APECS, PAGE21 and ADAPT. As natural sciences are the main discipline for the majority of current permafrost scientists, applicants with a background outside of physical/natural science, such as engineering, economics, humanities, and politics are particularly encouraged to apply. We kindly invite you to register to this workshop and to enrich interdisciplinary discussions. Please also forward this message to any colleagues who might be interested in this topic.
Deadline for workshop registration: December 15, 2013.

We are looking forward to your contributions.
