Dear Colleagues,

My co-conveners and I cordially invite your submissions to our AGU
Cryo Session:

C15. In-situ and Field-Based Measurements of the Cryosphere

Ground-based measurements of physical and chemical properties such as
snow accumulation and density, ice thickness, surface albedo, chemical
concentration and isotopic composition, biochemical composition, and
snow water equivalent are necessary for validating models and remote
sensing retrieval algorithms, providing data time series, and
collecting data not quantifiable remotely. These measurements are
often challenging, but provide essential information for important
processes such as air mass trajectories, ice sheet dynamics, mass
balance, and estimating available water from spring snowmelt. This
session focuses on innovative techniques for measuring cryospheric
physical and chemical properties from ground-based measurements.

This session is intentionally general and is aimed to attract broad
participation of any cryospheric scientist making field-based
measurements. If you are working in the field, please consider
submitting to this session.

Thanks,
The Conveners:

H. P. Marshall, Boise State University
Erich Osterberg, Dartmouth College
