[CRYOLIST] Young investigator group in Physical Oceanography of the Southern Ocean

Dear members of cryolist,

I want to bring to your attention the possibility for young scientists to apply for a Young Investigator Group at the Alfred-Wegener-Institute (AWI) in the field of physical oceanography of the Southern Ocean.

If you follow the link regarding job offers

https://www.awi.de/en/work-study/jobs/job-offer.html

you will find the entry „Young Investigator Group Leader". Hidden in there is a list of topics for which short proposals (this is a 2-stage process) will be accepted until 24 January, 2022. I posted the topic „Ocean transport processes and pathways in the Southern Ocean climate system", which constitutes a wide framework for Southern Ocean Physical Oceanography. Please look up the topic description. A possible proposal should focus on a specific aspect of it, based on the research interests of the candidate. Female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. Eligibility criteria, required documents, etc can be found following the above link.

Please contact me directly when considering to submit the application, if you wish some more guidance in this process.

I wish you a peaceful holiday season, take care,

Torsten
