For those of you with research interests in the observation and/or
modeling of glacier/ice sheet, sea ice, and snow surface processes and their
role in climate feedback and sea level rise, please consider
submitting your abstract to
Cryospheric Surface Processes: Implications for Climate Feedback and Sea Level Rise (Session C008).
The deadline for all submissions is 8 August.
We hope to see many of you in San Francisco!
Conveners: Alex Gardner (AOS, University of Michigan), Mark Flanner (AOS, University of Michigan) and Jan Lenaerts (IMAU, Utrecht University)

There will be a session focused on technology for science at the fall AGU meeting in San Francisco. Session Number:
C031
Session title:
Polar Technology Enabling Science
Session description:
"Rapidly evolving technology including high latitude communications, low power electronics and sensors, new power sources, and advanced signal processing are enabling new and enhanced science at high latitudes. This session is intended for posters or talks that document existing technology enabling science in fixed locations and mobile platforms at high latitudes in the field now, that are currently being developed or that are at earlier stages.
Conveners:
Dale Chayes, Columbia Univ
Louis Whitcomb, Johns Hopkins
Roy Stehle, SRI International
Tod Valentic, SRI International
Dates:
- Abstract submissions are open until August 8th
- Deadline to add Invited Authors is July 20th
- Fall Meeting: Monday 3 ? Friday 7 December, 2012

Greetings Cryolist Colleagues:
We are pleased to announce the following Global Environmental Change
session at the 2012 AGU Fall Meeting:
"Water Supply in Glacierized Mountain Watersheds - Monitoring Hydrological
Transitions and Assessing Vulnerability in a Changing Climate" (GC059)
Mountain glaciers provide essential water supplies to downstream
biophysical and human systems. Buffering against precipitation variability,
such glaciers help ensure a steady supply of water during otherwise dry
conditions. As mountain glaciers respond to a changing climate, the
potential hydrological consequences encompass topics as varied as altered
biodiversity, natural hazards vulnerability, and social resilience. This
session aims to integrate research into the myriad implications of these
glacier-related hydrological changes and we welcome contributions that
advance our knowledge of the challenges facing mountain watersheds
worldwide.
Session Hosts:
Jeff La Frenierre, Ohio State University (la-frenierre.1@osu.edu)
Richard Armstrong, University of Colorado (rlax@nsidc.org)
Bryan Mark, Ohio State University-Byrd Polar Rsrch Ctr (mark.9@osu.edu)
Daene Mckinney, University of Texas at Austin (daene@aol.com)
We hope that you will consider submitting an abstract to this session.
Regards,
Jeff La Frenierre, Richard Armstrong, Bryan Mark and Daene Mckinney
